Judge Walker did a fine job placing the 2010 IDW Jersey classes. There is no doubt that he favored the more milky cattle and the ringside were generally in agreement with the results.
Corey and Karin Couch won Champion with their Renaissance Ivy2 cow who was a previous winner here at Tatura. Reserve went to a powerful Bistar 10 year old cow, who having calved 7 times fit in reserve handily.
Champion udder went to Kaarmona with Kaarmona Parade Babe 2, who stood 2nd in the 5 yr. old class, and has previously done well at IDW.
Intermediate Champion went to the very dairy and milky cow Riverside Sultans Anthem, a beautiful daughter of Sunset Canyon Thunder Anthem. Eric will be happy!
The weather was unseasonably cool this year, and with late rains it looks like fall crops will be planted on time with adaquate water. The economy in general is much better here than in the "States" as their stimulus spending came from reserves, not borrowing! The dairy industry is doing better as well as long as the water holds out.
